What if our feet weren't the problem, but the starting point of the solution?
For years we watched as many people suffered pain, limitations, and injuries that seemed "normal." But when we started to observe the body from another perspective, a more natural, more conscious one, we understood that what we lacked was nothing external, but rather a return to trusting our own body.
Thus was born Sapiens.
From curiosity, experience and the desire to share a new way of understanding health and movement. A way that puts the foot at the center, that recovers its original shape and that reminds us that walking, running or moving well is something we already knew how to do. We just need to remember it.

Tiana is an early childhood education teacher and has dedicated years to accompanying children in their first years of life, a stage where everything begins to be built.
From a young age, she knew she wanted to be a teacher. Over time, her curiosity and sensitivity have led her to understand that movement is one of children's primary languages. Some children learn by listening, others by observing... but all, in one way or another, learn by moving.
In the classroom, she has seen that the gateway to children's holistic development begins with their feet, because that's where our entire body rests. When we don't give our feet the freedom they need, we condition the way they move, express themselves, and even how they think.
Feet not only support the body: they also support motor, emotional, and cognitive development.
More and more studies confirm this: respecting the natural form and function of the feet is essential, especially in these early stages of growth.
This vision awakened in her the need to create a space where families could understand, see, and feel the importance of letting feet be free, and thus an essential part of Sapiens was born, a project that unites her pedagogical perspective with Xavier's experience in movement.

Xavier
Xavier is a physical trainer and for years has been helping people who want to improve their health, performance, or simply feel better in their bodies.
In his consultations, he noticed something that was constantly repeated: many posture problems, pain, or limitations originated in the feet. When the feet stop functioning properly, the entire body adapts, and movement loses its naturalness, strength, and balance.
As early as 2012, driven by this curiosity, he discovered the concept of minimalist footwear through his first FiveFingers. Although it was still an unknown and niche world at the time, it sparked a deep interest in him. Over the years, science confirmed what he had already observed in his clients: strong and free feet are key to the overall health of the body.
He began recommending this type of footwear to the people he trained, and the results were evident. But there was a big barrier: it was a product that was hard to find, little known, expensive, and with an aesthetic component that often raised doubts. Furthermore, without physical stores where it could be tried on, sizes and shapes were a real challenge.
This is where his motivation to create Sapiens was born: a physical and accessible space to break down all these barriers, where people can touch, try on, and understand barefoot from real experience and knowledge. A project that unites science, education, and a passion for natural movement.
What is sapiens?
-
Sapiens is a space where barefoot living moves from the theoretical world to the real world.
It was born with a clear purpose: to educate and support people in rediscovering their feet, remembering that it's not the shoe that should adapt to fashion, but to the foot that brings it to life.
Our goal isn't just to sell footwear, but to guide a change. Because buying is easy, but understanding the foot, making it part of our movement, and integrating it into daily life is what truly transforms.
At Sapiens, every visit is a conversation, a space to organize information, shed light, and restore hope to those who had already tried everything. -
We believe in transparency, closeness, and accessible science, far from elitist language. We want to bring knowledge of the body, movement, and performance to everyone, demonstrating that health is not the absence of disease, but the presence of awareness.
Our value lies in personalisation and in connecting with health professionals: doctors, podiatrists, physiotherapists, trainers, etc., who trust us to guide their patients.
Today, Sapiens is growing from Mallorca with an open view to the world: we want to bring this advice and this way of understanding health to more people, everywhere.
Because returning to natural is not going backwards. It is moving towards a more conscious life.
